Boeing 727-200 Private in LLBG

The plane arrived from Larnaca There was two days at Ben Gurion airport Took off for Amman Did not stop in the field And from there he went on to Dubai The reason for stopping at Amman Because there is no relationship between Israel and the Persian Gulf countries So the planes land in Amman return to the runway and take off

Passing through Amman

The aircraft is 52 and a half years old!

He really has a respectable history

That’s a 727-100, the original variant. The -200 is 20 feet longer. I flew on many as a kid, mostly with United. Great pics that make me long for the old days.

When I clicked on this thread and saw your profile, I knew that I was going to see some quality shots. Nice catch!

According to jetphotos It’s 727-21

It is amazing that planes that are old fly still! Many airlines retire their planes after a much shorter time!
Great pictures!

You can’t really compare scheduled airlines to charter air carriers. Airlines try to keep their planes up in the air as much as they can thus they need them to be reliable and ready at all times. With the amount of hours and cycles they put on, older planes just can’t keep up without periodic maintenance, this the need for newer aircraft. It’s a completely different type of flying, altogether.

The 727-200 has a noticeably longer fuselage and rear cabin doors, features the -100 doesn’t have. A count of the cabin windows would also help confirm the identity of VP-BAP.
