Boeing 717 Rework

Another cool addition would be the '“Dial-a-flap” system that McDonnell Douglas developed

Instead of having 10°, 15°, etc… you actually choose the exact degree the flaps should be

Very practical for takeoff to take into account weight, runway length, altitude and air density

Does the B717 have that feature even though it’s a Boeing product? I know Boeing took over MDD, but the B717 is a different model than the MD-80s.

All Boeing did was rename it and keep selling because it wasn’t competing with anything in their lineup (and eventually making the eyebrow-less version). Other than the name, there’s absolutely nothing “Boeing” about it. Just like the A220, in reality a Bombardier product that shares zero commonality with the rest of the Airbus lineup.

And, yes, it absolutely has dial-a-flap.

Bump ! Miss when Delta used to operate the Boeing 717 in San Diego from Seattle.. Delta Airlines (Former AirTran Airways) 717-200 [N995AT] Landing at San Diego

You got my vote, definitely needs a rework and newer Hawaiian livery!

I need to make a trip to Hawaii to catch these bad boys. Have a feeling they will be retired soon.

First bump of the month

Second bump, I am still sad that this never became a thing.. the Southwest Airlines Boeing 717-200. When AirTran merged with Southwest, Southwest not only acquired additional Boeing 737-700s, but also Boeing 717-200s. Southwest didn’t want the 717s so they gave them to Delta Air Lines. Just imagine a Boeing 717 in the Southwest livery..

I need a rework of the 717 because I love doing island hopping flights in the Hawaiian 717, but it’s such a hard plane to fly sense it’s so outdated. This very much has my vote:call_me_hand:t4:

I do hope when this gets reworked they make the physics accurate so we can accurately become a rocket on takeoff

To be fair, it’s not like the current one is in need of any extra power…

Power is the one thing the 717 in-game does have… now if only we could get it to stop stalling at 140kts

I agree, the 717 likes to taxy even when power is not applied, and it can climb like a rocket.

This is one of my favorite airliners and I just recently flew on a Delta 717 a few days ago!

The 717 is a unique jet in IF and I hope it gets a rework. A flight model update would be great

THIS, and also have it not randomly fall out of the sky at around 40 feet causing me to slam into the ground at 1400 fpm… (yes this has happened to me multiple times and I’m almost sure it’s not a skill issue)

Yes, there is something about the 717 that just makes it fall onto the runway or something similar under 150 kts

Been a while since we’ve seen some European action here. Let’s fix that!

It does need a very big re-work. A LOT of things are missing and are out-dated. (Sorry IFET)
