I remember LAX-SAN was twice a day for a while on the 717 during the holiday season.
Thanks for the clarification.
this is a bump
I actually did a decent landing in the 717, let me link it
Hawaiian 717 Honolulu to Hilo
In my opinion, the best of Blue1’s 717 liveries.

The physics on this are… Questionable
I think this is the only aircraft in IF you can stall on takeoff with 170knots and flaps lol
Would love a rework!!!
Even if it gets like the basic rework the 747 did I’ll be happy
It has an interior, while I would love a full rework, it would be cool if we could get a basic rework.
This is actually my first video that i ever filmed of a Boeing 717.. only had 5 videos of these between late 2018 - early 2019. By 2019 they were starting to send them back to the East Coast.. man wished Delta still operated these over here in the West knowing that they were manufactured and assembled over at Long Beach.. Delta Airlines (Former Airtran Airways) 717-200 [N995AT] Landing at San Diego
I believe a light rework of the model would be the most relevant considering how unpopular this aircraft is and how much effort is required to rework an old model.
The features I identified could be reworked:
Master warnings
- Stall Warning System: has to be fixed (it should be around 120kts, not 130kts) and should sound like this
Systems
- slower flaps retraction mecanics
- add APU
Flight physics
- Approach speed dynamics : the aircraft tends to fall suddenly under 130kts
- Wing flex (optional)
- Landing gear rework including suspensions
A/P
- It seems the A/P doesn’t respond well and tends to maintain a lower speed than the one set
Lights:
-
The landing lights are not correct, in IF, there is only one on the front gear. There should be one on each wing tip and three on each side like reported in this topic. Here is an example :
You actually can choose to turn on/off the nose lights and retract and turn on the wing lights as shown undernearth:
- The strobe lights are wrong in IF: it should only flash once. In IF, it’s a double flash
A few years, or even months ago, I’d have agreed in a way. But not anymore - delivering new aircraft and reworks faster is one of the goals of 25.2/26.1 and the new content pipeline.
Just reworking the physics would make the model worthy of a rebuild from scratch . As Avioes mentioned, after 25.2 (or 26.1), the need of soft reworks should be eliminated by the introduction of the faster delivery system of upgraded models.
Tbh a rework for the 717 would give me hope for the other oldies in the sim. I always fear they’ll just flat out remove the 717 and replace it with something else. But a rework would provide some sort of reassurance when it comes to classic airliner reworks.
If the 717 is removed, I bet the biggest candidate to replace it would be one aircraft of the MD-80 family. They’re similar and had more users, many of whom used the B717.
Oh and speaking of the 717, I can indeed confirm that everything looks better in 26.1.
Would definitely love to see this aircraft reworked or replaced/added with the MD80. It deserves it!
Oh my! Three months without activity for this rework thread, let’s correct that, shall we? The B717 is a very pretty bird and it desperately needs a rework, I hope after 26.? the faster development process will allow for more reworks on the Legacy IF fleet.
Need this gorgeous gal in the game! Please vote for the 717!!!
Also vote for her livery request thread here!
Probably will post some photos here sometimes soon.
First bump of the month
