It stands for British Overseas Airways Corporation, its an airline (obviously). They merged in the 1970s with BEA to create British Airways, the airline that we know and love today :)

The mother of today’s BA. I’ve read it. The British Overseas Airways Corporation, or BOAC, was a British airline based in London and based at London Heathrow Airport. From it originated in the year 1974 the today’s British Airways.

An awesome addition to the BOAC VA fleet!

How does this work, the 744 was introduced in 1990. BOAC stopped in 1974. So this plane never existed.

Most likely a retro livery.

This image is actually a fake edit. BOAC never operated the Boeing 747-400. The 747-200 yes, but not the -400
