Bit of a disappointing day @ YBTL

I went planespotting at Townsville Intl. Airport (YBTL) this morning;

Location

I was in the big grass area on Ingham rd. on the end of rnw 01.

IF SPOTTING HERE, STAY ON THE BIG GRASS AREA SIDE, NOT WHERE THE FENCE IS

Camera

Nikon D60 w/ a 55-200mm lens, hood cap thing aswell; most photos shot at 200mm

It was a bit disappoining as it was overcast and I somehow ended up in the most awkward spots :confused: Anyways, heres the photos:

Qantas Link Dash-8/ Q400 bound for either Mt. Isa or Cairns

Jetstar aus. A320-200 CEO bound for Sydney

REX SAAB 340B bound for Cairns

Townsville Aviation Magpie bound for Food

All jokes aside, I shot this randomly, ended up being the best photo

Jetstar Aus A320-200 bound for either Sydney or Melbourne

Although you say it was disappointing your photos still turned out quite good, especially the Royal Australian Feathered Air Force :joy:

Fun fact: Aussie magpies are an invasive species in NZ, where they were introduced to control pests. V nice birds

yes this is true! did you also know, in the United States, another (super extremely) common bird, the House Sparrow, was also introduced from Europe for the same reason: to control insect population! (apologies for getting off topic! great shots.)
