##Making a Feature Request
Hooray! I’m a member, and I can request a feature! I’ve been waiting for weeks for this moment! But how do I do it? What should I do before I make a feature request? Are there any steps I can take to avoid my topic getting closed by the mods? This topic will answer all those questions, as well as some more to aid you when making your next feature request.
##How should I start? Are there any limits on what I can request?
First, start by finding a feature that you want to request. If it’s an airline livery make sure to learn some background information about it to answer possible questions. Please be specific-Rather than requesting all MD-11s, request a specific livery, such as UPS MD-11. Once you are ready with your information, find a picture of what you want to request. Only use one picture per request. This does not count as one picture…
The guideline is to prevent picture spams, and collages count as multiple pictures. When you have your picture, please use the search feature to see if somebody else has already requested your feature. If somebody has, it is much better to bump the old topic rather than creating a new one. There aren’t too many restrictions when if comes to feature requests, as long as it sent a duplicate (or violates any of the other guidelines), or a region request (global flight is coming), anything is allowed. When you actually make the post: be descriptive-too many feature requests’ bodies are like this:
-
<3 Would luv 2see in IF
Please be descriptive! Say: -
I would really like to see this German-based airline in the simulator. I flew on this plane in my trip to Oslo! :D
Also:
‘I’m requesting this because it’s a beautiful livery/I have a personal connection with it etc’ = OK
‘Im requesting this because I love making feature requests’ = Not OK.
Please request meaningful things, not just any random thing you found on the internet.
You are now an expert on making feature requests. Spread the word, and when you see a feature request that doesn’t follow these guidelines, nicely tell the user, and flag it for moderation. Remember: flag, don’t tag!
