This past weekend, I went to the Beale Air & Space Expo. It was truly an amazing show, albeit scorching hot.
One of the 2 Luke AFB F-35A’s on display.
The first public appearance of these 2 drones. The YFQ-42 and YFQ-44. Very cool to get a chance to see these.
Finally saw my first active B-52 Stratofortress. This one came from Barksdale AFB. Gigantic plane.
This was truly an incredible sight to see. I was super happy to see that “Sandman” made an appearance on static. Very grateful to be able to see this plane for the first, and probably last time as well, as I have heard the 173rd FW is upgrading to an all F-35 fleet after this summer.
Obviously, Beale was U-2 heaven. The TU-2 with the Dodge Charger chase car on top, and probably the final flight for tail number 1071 on the middle. On the bottom will probably be the last sight of a T-38 and U-2 formation. Very grateful to be able to see these beautiful birds, Oshkosh most likely being the final airshow for them before they are retired at the beginning of next year.
My first time seeing the rhino demo team.
