Bavarian Airlines plans to launch business-heavy E195-E2 flights from Munich by year's end

A new start-up, Bavarian Airlines, has expressed its intentions to start operations from Munich later this year, with its AOC already applied for. Bavarian Airlines plans to start operations with 12 E195-E2s which will be equipped with a 1-1 business class configuration, something that underscores the intention of Bavarian Airlines to win over business travelers from Lufthansa. The E2s are planned to only seat 126 passengers as opposed to the 146-passenger limit. Also included will be wifi and IFE screens at every seat, something which is highly unusual in Europe. Logically, business-heavy destinations such as Geneva, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Berlin, and London are planned to be among the initial destinations.

Another thing with which the airline wants to set itself apart is the loyalty program based on a separate cryptocurrency. Passengers will be able to either trade the cryptocurrency or pay for free flights/services with it.

Ticket sales are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2023.
