Barely Playable

Device: iPad 10.2 (2021)
Operating system: iPadOS 16.5

Hello all. I have been having some issues lately with my game that I hope I can find a solution to. Every time I’ve been at a busy airport or even when I’m near one, my game starts lagging. All the players around me start to disconnect and either disappear or fly off into the distance. I can barely even fly to these busy airports because my game will simply cut out while I’m on approach. This used to not happen to me, but now the game cuts out every time I fly to a busy airport. I’ve done everything that I think is possible. I’ve cleared my scenery cache, deleted all my replays, and even deleted and redownloaded the app. I know people might just tell me to lower my graphics settings, or tell me to lower my airplane count, or just tell me to not fly to busy airports. All valid points. But. I bought this expensive iPad to play infinite flight the best way possible, which in my opinion is playing on high graphics settings and a high airplane count. My iPad is still fairly new, so it should be completely capable of running this game. I would like to know if anyone is having this same issue, or if anyone has had this issue in the past and was able to fix it. If anyone has a solution to my problem, I would love to hear it. Thank you.

Good Evening TG14,
Yes, your iPad is relatively new, however Infinite Flight is a high demand app that requires a lot of frame rate and storage. I understand why you would expect to be able to play on high graphics, but when the game starts to lag, it means you have to adjust some things in your graphic settings. As years pass, hardware loses its ability to keep up with its software counterparts; such as apps that continue to update, creating more used storage space. So unfortunately, even though your iPad’s only 2 years old, it’s going to get a little slow when trying to compete with Infinite Flight. So as upsetting as it is, you’re going to have to tune down your graphics.

Reduce rendering graphics, enable low power mode, after takeoff reduce airplane count to low and keep it untill you land you can turn off the anti-aliasing if your device still lags.

Also taking your device case off Can help with preferences and provent heat damage

I appreciate all the replies. I’ll try lowering my graphics resolution to see if that helps. I kinda sucks that it seems like you have to have the latest technology in order to play the game with high specs

Just wanted to come back and say that I tried spawning in at a busy airport (SBGR) today with all graphics settings on low and aircraft count on medium. I still had the same problems as before. Planes were disconnecting and flying all over the place. I just don’t know what to do.

What you’re describing is a connectivity issue.
You either have a weak signal or something is wrong with your service provider causing very high latencies on the connection.

I thought that might be the case. I sat right next to my router to ensure a strong and secure connection. The same thing still happened. I have very powerful Wi-Fi, and I use multiple other devices, some of which are far away from the router and still run perfectly smoothly.
