Bangkok to Helenski

I’ll keep you updated but here’s the ground and takeoff plus the route I’ll be taking, it’ll take me a few days because of me wanting to see the scenery because it’ll be such a good flight. I’m in training server and the flight time is roughly 11 hours in total. Only over water sections are the Bay of Bengal and the Black Sea. The route will cross these countries, in order.
Thailand, Myanmar, India, Pakistan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia Before touching down in Finland. So in total 16 countries. Not my longest flight by defiantly gonna be my favourite.

I really like your route. And your route details: listing all the countries you have to fly over.

It made me remember, the one time I flew on Finnair irl was a flight from Bangkok to Helsinki (and back), to make a trip from Sydney to Budapest.

Of course, I had to do that route in IF.

I was in awe of all the countries and regions we had to cross. I obsessed about carefully accounting for all of them.

Anyway, off the topic a bit, but my dad learned to speak both Finnish and Thai quite fluently.

Two countries he became the most obsessed about. He was always studying Finnish when I was little. And when I became an adult, he was always studying Thai.

But anyway it’s a great and exotic route, and I really enjoyed your screenshots and the memories. Thanks!

Nah that’s all good, I saw it on flight radar and I’m like wow just the complexity of having to go around and weave in between all the less fortunate ones where war is at the moment and then realising how good that route is. So cool that you flew this route and for your dad learning 2 languages is actual sick as, anyways I’ll be posting the photos on here sorter once a day or so depending on how long it takes me to do this route, right now I’m just about to enter Pakistan

Yeah, I realized you have a more indirect route than back when we completed that route irl. I do specifically remember when we reached the point where we were flying directly over Kabul Afghanistan. And I think it was pretty much fairly direct to Helsinki. With the final destination south to Budapest being a separate flight on a different airline. But what a range of countries! Great geography lesson.

Yeah IF has defiantly helped me with geography a lot like I was always good at it but now i’m even better, yeah I’m not sure why my route is more indirect ig just avoiding the whole Middle East apart from Iran and Pakistan and than joining up with all the routes that fly over the Black Sea like if you look on flight radar you’ll see what I mean by a lot

Yeah I totally agree. IF and FR4 helped me a lot to know about airports all around the world.
I appreciate to recognize more and more cities and countries.

Nice route idea, I enjoyed seeing these screenshots with descriptions as well.

Thank you! Yeah and like I wouldn’t have known these cities and in fact some countries but IF has defiantly helped me understand the world more and it may be low res but still is really cool seeing different landscapes and just the flight I did before this one and descending below thick cloud to see the beaches and mountains of Sao Paolo was just incredible.
