As a fan of A380, I’ve been curious about which of these two iconic giants people prefer: the Boeing 747 or the Airbus A380. Both have their unique qualities, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on the following:
• Which one do you think offers the best flying experience in Infinite Flight?
• What do you enjoy more about flying the B747 or A380?
• If you could choose one to fly forever, which would it be and why?
• Which of these aircraft do you think is more iconic or influential in aviation history?
747-8 (specifically, only because the 744 is legacy and the A380 can be a very slippery aircraft)
747 is a modern classic and a beauty to fly
A380 because of it’s modern interior and comfortability
Again, in my opinion I think the 747 is way more iconic and influential as being such a big plane with huge pax capacities AND being a quadjet automatically secures its spot in the aviation hall of fame. Not to mention it’s maiden flight was in 1969!
It’s arguably the most well known plane in history. People know what a 747 looks like, and a lot of folks could probably identify it on sight, partially due to its high profile position as Air Force One.
Without a doubt, this goes to the A380. Probably the most perfectly modeled and developed plane in the sim at the moment, it offers an incredible flying experience.
I don’t really fly either of them that much, but as I enjoy flying lesser flown planes, I truly enjoy flying the 747 more.
If they would update the 747 series, I would without a doubt fly it more. She is the queen of the skies, and belongs there too!
As @Mort said, the 747 is probably the most iconic plane in existence, perhaps besides the Wright Flyer. Known as the jumbo jet, queen of the skies, and the whale (for its ‘humped-back’ look), the 747 paved the way for wide-bodied aircraft

The 747 is the best. Unfortunately it is not that way in IF. If you mean in the sim I’d say
A380 all the way. Sucks that I have to play X-plane 10 or Aerofly if I want to fly a decent 747.
Anything related to Infinite Flight, the A380 is better to me because it was recently reworked and is a very detailed aircraft from graphics to physics.
Now outside of IF…
I grew up with the 747. As a young kid id stare at them fly over (live near SFO) for years. They’re huge and so intriguing to watch, especially as a young kid who didn’t know the physics behind airplanes and flight yet. When I was sick and stayed home from school, I didn’t play video games or watch TV, I watched the airplanes pass above me all day. I memorized the general schedule of SFO flights. If I saw JAL 747 it was 1 pm. If Virgin 747 it was 4PM. If British 747 it was 5pm. I rode many too, mostly Philippine Airlines’s 747.
And then in 5th grade I read about the A380. What was the big deal…?
WOW the top deck goes ALL THE WAY to the end?!
And that was it. It was automatically cooler to me than the 747.
To this day I’m still more of an A380 fan but of course for many other reasons. But I felt like a child the first time I rode an A380, which was in 2022. It’s going to stay a really sentimental aircraft for me.
Besides that, a lot of people say it’s an engineering marvel. The 747 is a very iconic plane though. The A380 will be supreme to me but all things considered the 747 has a more significant role in history.
