Summary: *The event simulate the very popular series, “Cockpit Casual” which gives a rare glimpse into the world of delivering (empty) airliners around the world. , by The Nomadic team, led by Steve Giordano and Bob Allen.
The event centers around the transport of two former Japanese Air Force B747-400 aircraft, which were previously utilized for transporting VIPs, including the Japanese Emperor. Recently recommissioned from Marana - Pinal Airpark storage (KMZJ), these aircraft are ready for a new purpose. The journey begins with a flight from Marana to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (KIWA) for refueling and customs clearance.
After completing the necessary procedures, the ferry flight continues to Ben Gurion International Airport (LLBG) in Israel. This leg of the journey spans over 14 hours and serves as the final destination for the aircraft. Upon arrival, the B747-400s will undergo conversion into 747-400BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter) models, enhancing their cargo-carrying capabilities.
The Generic B747-400 aircraft should be used, and callsign will be N7474C and N7477C.
I will be flying one of the jumbo jets and there’s one spot for the second jumbo.
Prepare yourself for an immersive experience as you embark on this unique adventure, simulating the process of ferrying aircraft around the world. Enjoy the challenges and excitement that come with delivering these iconic airliners to their new homes, while also experiencing the camaraderie of fellow aviation enthusiasts.*
