I was fortunate to get the chance to see up close 1 of 2 B29’s left flying in the world. It’s crazy to think the history and the role this aircraft had in shaping the events during WWII. It’s currently on a history restore tour.
Got a few decent shots so without further ado letting get up close on this beauty.
Some lucky folks doing a ground tour before its next departure for flight rides.
Idling in from its first flight ride with a little prop blur.
Parked and cutting power before wheel chokes.
I think I left this one a little to dark editing. Still a nice shot.
I missed the main start up on the #1 engine but this a very small amount of smoke initially created from engine #2. The smell and sound is amazing!
This was it’s first departure ride flight line up.
Really pleased how this shot came out. Other then the guy standing there in the shot it looks straight out of an old history book.
Again here, this was not a well produced image by any means, but once I made it black and white it’s got that old school nostalgic look. Framed out on the right with the Phoenix Goodyear Airport with MSL elevation.
Rolling hills, Control Tower, B29 Superfortress!! What more could you ask for??
This image is just horrid! Heat distortion, lense diffraction, the list goes on but i wanted show the astounding size comparison. I believe that’s a scrapped A330 behind the B29. How small the old war birds are compared to today’s modern planes is just crazy.
Til next time…
