Who can tell me how much fuel an A380 takes on a typical journey from New York-Kennedy Airport to Dubai Airport? You can give pounds/kilos or gallons/liters.
Good question what it is
Guess we will find out…
That could vary, based on many different factors, such as weight, desired flight plan, reserve fuel, etc.
I said Typical flight…Assuming you have the tailwind flying east bound and have the same load everyday…
But what would the load be? I need numbers to work with.
Google a typical Emirates A380 flight from JFK to Dubai on an A380…Honestly, it was suppose to be more of a guesstimate but Flightaware.com should help out
Just above 200 tonnes? I’ll guess about 215 tonnes.
I’ll give you an answer… when global comes out 😉
About 12 tonnes per hour at 13.75 hours (12.25 hours+0.5 hours FAA reserve+0.5 hours alternate reserve+0.5 hours discretionary reserve.) = 159 tonnes.
Maybe… 200… 215 Tons?
12 Tonnes per hour, plus statistical contingency fuel, plus minimum reserves plus diversion fuel.
13 odd hours on a good day. 156 Tonnes
Diversion, probably Al Ain, 45 minutes or so. 9 Tonnes
Statistical Contingency (dependent on time of day, weather, etc.) 15 minutes. 3 tonnes
Minimum Reserves. 6 tonnes
Taxy fuel for departure 2 tonnes
So, tanks approx 176T out of JFK.
All estimates obviously.
It is about 480,000 pounds of gas or 250 tons.
I guess it’s ~170 tons
