Aviation Culture of China?

There are many aviation enthusiasts in the world, and there are also many in mainland China (China mentioned below refers to mainland China if it is not marked separately). I can often see Chinese aviation fans flying abroad and entering the cockpit in the Chinese version of TikTok, and I will also use “magic” to see foreign aviation fans interact with pilots when flying on YouTube… So what are Chinese aviation fans like?

CAAC

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) (although it is the Civil Aviation Administration, general aviation, drones, gliding wings, flying cars, etc., except for military ones, are all managed by this department) has a strict system: the cockpit is a “forbidden place” for “irrelevant personnel”, so the biggest difference from foreign flight enthusiasts is that Chinese airlines cannot enter the cockpit.

Unable to communicate with the cockpit, someone invented the “flight log”, which can be given to the cabin manager when boarding the plane, and the cabin manager can hand it over to the captain. This is the only way for Chinese flight enthusiasts to contact the cockpit.

My Flight Log

Sometimes, the cockpit will also send ATIS or release slips. We will be very happy to receive such an unexpected surprise.

Airlines

The first to take action is China Southern Airlines.

Why can’t Asia’s largest airline accommodate a small notebook?

After the conference broke out, I avoided taking all flights operated by China Southern Airlines and chose Sichuan Airlines, China Eastern Airlines and other airlines to travel.

China Eastern Airlines C919 made its first flight, and the flight attendants returned the flight log of flight enthusiasts.

With the opening of China Southern Airlines, Sichuan Airlines, Air China, Hainan Airlines, etc. also began to operate, prohibiting flight log.

Airport

What is airplane photography? Neediss to say, I am also one of the photographers. According to Chinese law, we can’t build ladders or something. We understand, so we will choose some available places to shoot.

I’m shooting airplanes in Chengdu.

Therefore, some airport leaders contributed to a job: airport patrol.

Chinese primary school students

Whether I play games, take pictures of airplanes, or in my daily life, primary school students are really a very annoying group. During the Spring Festival the year before last, a captain of Air China kindly let a primary school student enter the cockpit. The primary school student posted the pilot’s photo, flight number and date to the Internet. Then the crew and crew were fired by the airline during the Spring Festival.

Not everyone is of high quality. Primary school students like to post the location of the camera on the Internet (I don’t think it’s anything on Spotterguide), so this location will be occupied by a large number of people, leaving garbage. Finally, the government or local residents will close this place.

Rare beauty

Sometimes, the captain can come out to take a photo with us after work, and we can also fly to Hong Kong to take Cathay Pacific.

I took a photo with another aviation enthusiast, captain and first officer I met on the plane.

Cathay Pacific ffter landing, took a photo with the captain in the cockpit.

Thank you for reading. If possible, no matter where you are, share a little of your story! If there are any mistakes in my article or something that makes you uncomfortable, please point it out. Thank you!

The thing is, the majority of people just see it as a means of transportation. And to ensure absolute safety, authorities and airlines tend to take a conservative approach to regulate the interactions with avgeeks.

And to add note, the “primary school student” does not necessarily indicate one’s level of education, but their bad behavior and manners.

Hey there! This is a pretty cool system, I’ve never even heard of that. Like passing notes in class. Here in America, you can’t enter mid flight either. (If the plane is registered with the US). I always go before/after my flights. They always seem to blush when I show them a video of their hard landing or something ;)

I agree with this view, and the part cannot be used to represent all. CAAC is really safe.

Nowadays, many Chinese airlines prohibit logs from entering the cockpit, and the flight attendant will write something, which is also very meaningful.
