Autopilot’s bank angle

Hello there. I had a question about the autopilot’a bank angle. I find it very sudden and steep especially at cruise altitude when I am going from one waypoint to another. Is there a way to adjust is or will there be any updates soon that will introduce a bank angle selector? Thanks!)

if you want it to bank less make your flight plan avoid sharp turns, thus having the aircraft bank less. The autopilot only banks that much becuase it needs to bank that much in order to stay on course.

Not much you can do besides trying to plan your routes to have smoother turns.

You cannot currently change the bank angle. It’s how it was designed.

I use flight plan data base for my fp. It has routes that commercial aircraft fly. Still very sharp. In real planes they have a knob to adjust the angle accordingly . (You won’t want your passengers Champagne going everywhere)

you can always just take it off of autopilot and fly the aircraft manually through tight turns, thats what I do

The autopilot does standard rate turns 3 degrees per sec which is what your supposed to do when IFR. But it does vary I have noticed.

@Infinite244 MaxSez: The sharp turn is a program error obviously since its uncoordinated. Coordinated Turns (smooth turns) require both Rudder and Aileron input. Note only the Rudder is employed in IF aircraft for programmed maneuvering. Pilot Aileron & additional Rudder input or offset plan fixes are required.

Yeah there’s no way to solve this unfortunately, especially when on Nav mode. Hopefully the devs can figure this one out some day

Does it though? I cannot stand how slow it is and it overshoots all the time. Just my opinion 😊

Just tested it out and it appears to do only 1 degree per second. That is so poor 😂

Lol well maybe you should submit a a bug report. It should be 3 degrees a sec but who knows I’m not a Dev.

Try going a turn at cruise altitude. It is way to sharp
