Autopilot+ off

Hi, I love the new autopilot+ feature as I find it very useful. However, there are moments where I do like to leave my device open during my cruise until I land. Last time I tried, my iPad just went to sleep and the plane was waiting for me 30 miles out. Is there a way to shut this off so that I can continue my flight the old way?

Currently it pauses the flight 30mins before arrival.

The iPad went to sleep because of your device settings, to prevent your iPad going to sleep mode when it’s not touched for a period of long time you can:

Go to the settings app > Go to ‘Display & Brightness’ > go to auto lock > then choose ‘never’

Putting together these answers into a concise post:

No, there is no way to save your flight or turn it off without using AP+. The flight will continue until 30 minutes out if your device goes to sleep or turns off during your flight. If you wish to stop this from happening, Change your settings like @Cwaker suggested. Hope this helps!
