There is a small glitch or problem with the autopilot reading. As you can see I’m flying from TBPB to TAPA..one on leg of the trip my heading is 046 as it says on the interface, but on the autopilot it says 093 ( my previous heading). Again when I change to another leg my heading is 339 but the autopilot is still reading 093. Shouldn’t the autopilot change heading to correspond with the actual heading of the aircraft. Maybe a little help here
The autopilot no longer does this as of 26.1 - which actually aligns with how the autopilot behaves on aircraft in real life. The manual heading bug does not automatically change, pilots often manually adjust it to fit their current heading in case they have to disconnect the autopilot unexpectedly.
I was actually super happy to see this, so much more realistic and comparable to what we use IRL.
Ok thanks but having to manually adjust this would make life rather tiedeous
Thanks but having to manually change this, wouldn’t it make things more tedious.
Not really - you don’t need to constantly adjust it. It’s just remembering to check it’s aligned if you need to disengage LNAV for e.g. ATC vectors.
So basically even though it looks weird to me or that the autopilot will not correspond to what heading the plane is actually flying..just leave well enough lone as long as the plane is doing what it is supposed to in the flight plan.
if LNAV is engaged, it will follow your flight plan. If you need to turn LNAV off, make sure the heading box is aligned with your current heading.
Yup I realised this, when I had to try many ways to sync it to what I want, which became annoying, but I did not know that this would be the way forward, nor did I know this is what actually happens in real life..I wish they would have explained this in the update..so for me, I understand..oh well it is what it is…thanks
