Autopilot Holding Mode

Giving this a bump as someone has just made a recent post asking about holding patterns. Would be great to be able to implement a hold at around 220 KIAS for example

This would be Awesome. I dont have a spare vote but if I did I would vote for this first.

Voted for this. Makes complete sense.

Normally I’d just add in a group of new WPTs if needed or handfly it, but having this would be a great bonus and surely not too difficult to add in… (I always assume, usually never reality).

I believe RFS has this feature. Would love to see it in IF!

That would be great!! It’s so bad to do it by the heading

Thats a good one :)

That’s really smart actually, but the first thing that they need to sort is, the nav mode

This would help a lot! There were many times I was struggling to fly the holding pattern and it wasn’t even accurate. With an AP Hold, I don’t have to worry about too much.

i agree, this could be a very helpful feature
I wonder if there is any way to implement this into the existing avionics panel (where you can select source from GPS, NAV1, NAV2, etc.)

could work in a similar way to selecting an ILS approach perhaps, tap a VOR, waypoint, or airport, and there could be a “holding pattern” option, and after it’s set, you simply select the appropriate source in avionics and enable NAV mode.

Something I’ve always wished IF would add! :D

This is much needed! It can be difficult to follow the holding pattern line.
