Autopilot goes crazy

Hello!
I had an issue with autopilot during landing. I flew from ULLI (St.Petersburg, Russia) to UUEE (Moscow, Russia) on Boeing 737 (Aeroflot). When my aircraft was on final I turned on “Approach” button and then my aircraft started to calibrate altitude and vertical speed to land. But, A/P started to pull yoke up and my aircraft got more altitude. Because of that, A/P decided to pull yoke down to reduce altitude. Anyway, this A/P goes crazy. When I switch it off, my yoke was bugging, I mean my yoke was fully up but my phone was in the same position before switching off the A/P and after. I tried to calibrate my phone again but it didn’t worked. Just watch the fragment of my flight. Also, your A/P should turn aircrafts more smoother, it just kicks in different angles.

Here is the link to my video on YouTube (5-6 minutes): [Infinite Flight] - Issue: A/P is mad - YouTube

Watched the video - you seem extremely slow, which caused your plane to go downwards. After this happened, the autopilot and APPR mode tried to correct itself by pulling up (to remain on glideslope). This led to a stall, which disengaged your autopilot entirely. In the future, I’d check your speed and perhaps even disengage APPR mode (or the autopilot completely) when you are nearing a stall.

I also saw there was no nav 1 ils setting selected. Make sure you go into the menu and click on the set nav 1 button when selecting a runway.

It’s replay - you won’t see it.

Oh okay. Oopsies

It was selected - NAV1 24C

Were you Aligned with the diamonds?

But what about yoke when I switch off A/P. My yoke goes extremely full up, even my phone was in the same position before switching off the A/P.

Did you remember to calibrate beforehand?

It isn’t help

What do you mean? 2 White and 2 red lights near the runway?

Well, you have to calibrate in the position that you will be landing in. Calibrating with a device on the table and then picking it up will pull you straight up.

I have calibrated my phone, but it doesn’t help anyway, sometimes.

Calibrating is one thing, calibrating in the right spot is another thing. What was your speed/flaps/trim?

I don’t think AP went crazy, rather your slow speed caused a rapid change in VS which made AP pitch up to counteract, and it went downhill from there. But I can’t solve your issue with calibration.

Speed approximately 145-150kts, flaps about 15 degrees and trim was 0%

Sorry if it was meant for Matt but I can’t help but say your flaps should be 30 or 40 degrees at that speed. Additionally, I would put some trim in there, say 15%.

Ok, thanks

Same issue here.

My first thought indeed was speed, calibration and turn.
So I reiterated the attempt on numerous flights since then with as many scenarios as possible and the problem remains.

Conclusion is sad but also cut & dry: the AP is is of no use on APP and shows recurring issues during cruise.

No big deal during APP because I always prefer hand flying my ride to the runway.
Cruise issues are more or less fixed by deactivating altitude AP and keeping VS AP.
But when IFA kicks in for stepclimb, then the issue returns.

Initial climb is ok when activating passed 1.000 or 2000ft otherwise it’s a disaster.
Main climb shows no issues.

I appreciate many regulars trying to find reasons for glitches and bugs but I’m pretty sure AP accuracy has been impacted by the few last game updates.

If it has been modified to show more realism that’s totally cool on my end. But it would matter to I form users since it doesn’t provide the best of experiences.
