So I’m a little confused - I have another flight going with 30 minutes remaining. As I went to finish it, I got this message stating that my current flight from IAH won’t be saved because of the other flight in the background (a JFK-HNL flight I started less than 48 hours ago).
Now I’m upset because I have to literally stay on this flight to IAD for 3 hours before I return to my other flight. Am I missing something here?
I just exited the IAH-IAD flight and took the loss but I thought 2 flights could be done at the same time.
Only 1 flight can be in AP+ mode at any one time. If you start a second flight you have to do that one entirely active. There is no way to “swap” between them.
@jasonrosewell wrote the following in the article:
“In addition to continuing your flight in the background, you can start another flight or ATC session in any mode. Rather than stare out the window on a trans-continental flight for hours, you can head to your favorite small field to practice pattern work, fly with friends, join an Infinite Flight community event, or control the skies! Your option to continue the previously saved flight will still be available.”
What criteria would I have to meet in order to start a second flight without losing the other one?
The first one needs to be in AP+ mode to be able to start a second flight on the same device.

The first one was in the AP+ mode with all criteria met with the 30 minutes left on the same device. I only use Infinite Flight on one device.
I was under the impression that I could start another flight (to join an event etc) within 48 hours without losing the first flight.
You can only use one AP+ per account. If you are flying with AP+ and want to attend an event, you must turn on the screen and fly as usual.
