Iâve experienced auto throttle during my A320 experience. Basically, Thereâs fixed positions on the throttle lever, idle, climb, flx max, toga and reverse. Based on which position, the very smart Airbus computers will give appropriate power to the engines. Takeoff at flx max, then to climb for cruise etc, and it will assume climb/descend and give you power accordingly.
Pilots use Autothrottle all the time. It pushes the throttles forward after stabilizing to reach your optimal speed for takeoff and climb out. I donât think itâs lazy at all.
Using autothrottle for takeoff in its current state in IF is not realistic, blasting off with a N1 of 118% is just insane on some of the planes. Now, if the system was changed where it would hold the throttle in the mid 90s or below redlining the engines, it would be nice to have once you advance your throttles and the engines stabilize.
Actually, itâs not a bad idea. Itâs hard for me and most likely to precisely throttle up to takeoff power. I donât think not sliding your finger isnât lazy. Itâs just tapping a button. Not that much of a difference.
Nothing will ever be lazy about real world AP systemsâŚyou also said that for ApproachâŚand still it was added if you dont like it SIMPLE!dont use it
The reason i want this is because the current AP system doesnât behave so wellâŚif you set SPD and arm it after takeoffâŚit cuts the throttleâŚthat behaviour is what bugs me mostâŚThe throttle should decrease realisticallyâŚ
