Hey Infinite Flight community! :airplane:

The day has finally arrived. For months, I’ve been quietly building something for everyone who has ever wished they could physically fly their aircraft instead of dragging a thumb across the glass — and today I’m beyond excited to finally put it in your hands.

Infinite Flight Kits turns the iPhone already in your pocket into a full physical control rig for Infinite Flight running on your iPad. Tilt the phone like a yoke, slide the throttle, kick the rudder, work the autopilot, talk to your AI co‑pilot — all over your local Wi‑Fi, in real time, with zero extra hardware and zero cables. Your iPad stays the cockpit window; your iPhone becomes the controls.

Buckle up — let’s take a tour. :backhand_index_pointing_down:

:small_airplane: TWO WAYS TO FLY: MOTION YOKE & TOUCH JOYSTICK

You choose how the aircraft feels in your hands:

  • Motion Yoke (tilt): Bank and pitch by tilting the phone itself. It reads gravity relative to a captured centre, so it’s totally grip‑independent — works flat on your lap or held upright like a real control column, with no gimbal‑lock weirdness near 90°. Drift or changed your grip mid‑flight? One tap on Recenter zeroes it instantly.
  • Touch Joystick: Prefer thumbs? A self‑centring on‑screen yoke pad with guide rings and a crosshair springs back to centre the moment you let go.
  • Tune it to taste: Per‑axis sensitivity, dead‑zone, expo curve, and invert for pitch / roll / yaw, plus a configurable 15°–60° full‑scale tilt range.

:level_slider: THE SMARTEST THROTTLE YOU’VE FLOWN WITH

One lever, and it knows what you mean based on your speed and whether you’re on the ground:

  • Forward throttle 0–100% — holds its position like a real quadrant; a satisfying haptic clicks at the idle detent.
  • Pull into the red zone on the ground above 40 kts → REVERSE THRUST (held automatically, exactly the way IF wants it).
  • Below 40 kts → proportional WHEEL BRAKES — the deeper you pull, the harder you brake.
  • Try it in the air? Blocked. Reverse aloft damages the aircraft, so it’s forced to idle with a clear AIRBORNE REVERSE warning until you back off.

:compass: A FULL GLASS COCKPIT IN YOUR HANDS

  • Autopilot panelALT, VS, SPD, HDG with a swipe‑to‑scrub strip whose rate scales with how fast you flick, VNAV / LNAV / APPR, and one‑tap altitude presets from 2,000 to 41,000 ft.
  • Systems panel — a faithful recreation of IF’s Systems overlay: ELECTRICAL (battery / APU / ext power), LIGHTS, ENGINES (start/stop with a live engine‑count badge), PASSENGERS signs, autobrake OFF → LOW → MED → MAX, HUD/FPV, and more — every button reflecting live aircraft state.
  • Handling tiles — Landing Gear (blocked on the ground, for obvious reasons ), a swipe‑to‑adjust Flaps lever labelled with your aircraft’s real detents (e.g. FLAPS 1+F · 8°, FLAPS FULL), multi‑position Spoilers, Parking Brake, and Pushback.

:pager: HUD, AIRBUS‑STYLE PFD TAPES & TCAS TRAFFIC RADAR

  • Heads‑up strip — animated IAS / ALT / HDG / V/S chips and a GND/AIR phase indicator.
  • PFD tapes — proper moving speed and altitude tapes with a yellow speed‑trend arrow and cyan FCU selected bugs, just like the real Airbus PFD.
  • TCAS traffic radar — a genuine Airbus‑ND‑style scope with full TCAS II symbology: Proximate, Traffic Advisory TA (amber), and Resolution Advisory RA (red), heading‑up rotating compass, range rings cycling 5 / 10 / 20 / 40 / 80 NM, relative‑altitude tags, and climb/descent arrows — with real‑world inhibits so parked traffic never flashes red at you.

:studio_microphone: MEET YOUR AI CO‑PILOT

On supported devices, hold the mic button and just say it:

“Climb and maintain one zero thousand, heading two seven zero, speed two five zero, gear up.”

Your AI co‑pilot transcribes on‑device (your audio never leaves the phone), biased toward aviation phraseology, cleans up the speech‑to‑text, and applies every command the aircraft actually supports — autopilot targets (including relative ones like “climb 2,000 feet”), lights, signs, APU, gear, flaps, spoilers, autobrake — then shows you a tidy card of exactly what it did. :sparkles:

:world_map: Map: airport ground layouts, radar data blocks, and detail cards

  • Zoom into any airport and the ground layout appears: real runway strips with threshold idents, plus yellow taxiway centrelines with designator chips (A, K1, …) — offline data bundled for 4,800+ airports worldwide (taxiways © OpenStreetMap contributors).

  • Every traffic contact now carries an ATC radar-style data block: callsign, altitude, climb/descend arrow, and ground speed — automatically decluttered when you zoom out.

  • Tap any aircraft for a detail card with the pilot’s name, callsign, and flight level. Tap any airport for its name, ICAO, runways, and in-sim weather.

  • Your own aircraft marker now points where the nose points, and pinch-zooming no longer snaps back while the map is following you.

:airplane_departure: TAKEOFF CALLOUTS & PERFORMANCE PLANNING

  • Spoken V1 / Rotate / V2 callouts fire automatically off live telemetry as you accelerate down the runway — heard even with your ringer silenced.
  • Performance screen — a full pre‑flight planner: weight & balance “what‑if” editor, nearest‑airport lookup from a bundled offline airport database, in‑sim winds with headwind/crosswind components, runway picker, and estimated V1/VR/V2 and VREF/VAPP from a library of 16 aircraft profiles (C172 → A380). Pick your own units for weight, distance, temperature, and speed.

:airplane_departure: SkyYoke’s Custom Autopilot Panel — Boeing Style Mode Arming

:airplane: Boeing style mode arming

This is the feature I’m most proud of. On the real Boeing MCP, pressing a mode button before the autopilot master is engaged doesn’t activate it — it arms it, and the FMA annunciates it in white until the AP comes on.

SkyYoke works the same way:

  • With the AP master OFF, pressing ALT / VS / SPD / HDG / LNAV / VNAV / APPR only arms the mode. Armed modes show in white — toggle cells read “ARMED”, value cells get a white dot and border, just like the FMA’s armed color.
  • When you press AP, the entire armed set engages at once and turns green.
  • With the master already ON, modes engage/toggle immediately, like you’d expect.
  • Targets can be dialed either way — only the mode engagement waits for the master.

So you can fully set up your automation on the ground or during a hand-flown departure — dial your altitude, speed, heading, arm LNAV/VNAV — and bring it all alive with a single AP press. No more toggling six switches while trying to keep the wings level.

:camera: BONUS GOODIES

  • Camera control from the yoke pad — swipe to look around, tap to switch views, double‑tap to recenter, long‑press for cockpit view.
  • Immersive haptics — a ground rumble that scales with your ground speed (gentle taxi patter → hard takeoff roll) and a hefty 5‑second jolt when the gear cycles.
  • Plug‑and‑play connection — automatic LAN discovery finds your device on Wi‑Fi; just tap and fly (Connect API v2).
  • Trilingual — full English, 繁體中文, and 简体中文.
  • Safety‑first — fail‑safe autopilot on disconnect/backgrounding, gear‑on‑ground protection, and a full cockpit lock the instant you pause IF.

:stop_sign: BEFORE YOU TAKE OFF — PLEASE READ

  • Unofficial & independent. Infinite Flight Kits is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially supported by Infinite Flight LLC. It simply uses Infinite Flight’s public Connect API.
  • Simulator aid only. The V‑speeds and the V1 / Rotate / V2 callouts are estimates for the simulator — NOT for real‑world flight.
  • What you’ll need: an iPhone (iOS 17.2+), a second device running Infinite Flight, both on the same Wi‑Fi, and a one‑time bind of the virtual joystick axes in IF → Controllers. A built‑in Setup Guide walks you through it. The AI Co‑Pilot additionally needs a device with Apple Intelligence.
  • Subject to change. This is an early release — features, names, and behaviour may evolve based on your feedback.

So that’s Infinite Flight Kits. Map your axes, prop the iPad up, pick up your phone, and go fly something. :airplane_arrival:

Dive in, tilt into a turn, and tell me what you think! What aircraft should I tune next? What would you add? Drop your thoughts, screenshots, and bug reports below. :blue_heart:

Just to let you know, you have to hold at the other end of the hold short line. You are blocking the runway.
