does anyone else dread using auto pushback or is it just me? auto pushback is usually 90% accurate but this is definitely the worst one i’ve seen
are there any plans of this getting fixed? for someone who craves realism, its a sucky way to start off my flight.

It tries to avoid collisions with 3d buildings/scenery so quite often you’ll end up stuck like this in tight aprons. Using the pull function can help straighten the aircraft, but make sure you add a pull point before starting auto pushback as it usually won’t let you once detached from the gate.
understood, its also a simple matter of the tug turning too late, almost every single time. not all the time you can pull because in busy airports, theres likely an aircraft in front of you
One thing I found to help is to increase the push length.
My horrible example:

thats a good point to make but a bad idea if theres ATC online since some of them use the drag nd push mechanic to sometimes push 2 aircraft next to each other calculating the separation through dnp
Hi there,
I flew from SYD a few days ago at that gate.
I think you might have started pushed back into the very start of another gate.
If not, it might be an issue with the gate. i had the same
Completely false. No it’s not.
The only thing it takes into account is built taxiway network. And to answer @Levi.TT why it’s not perfect and sometimes not accurate - this taxiway network is not perfect and very very optimized where many lines with different directions intersect. So as you can see here it doesn’t follow yellow taxi line, so if you pushing here on that main taxiway it will go with zig zags. It’s just how taxiway netowrk is built and used.
Also it has it’s own way and it’s not perfect and clumsy especially on small segments after 90 degrees turn. As delta12611 said you need to increase pushback path to finish the turn.
