Hello everyone. I am having a doubt regarding changing the angle of attack without deactivating autopilot. So when we set an altitude while taking off or decend, the aircraft takes an angle. Is there a way to change that angle without deactivating the auto pilot.thank you.
Yes, you can adjust the angle by changing the “VS” (Vertical Speed) value of the autopilot. Just keep in mind that this sets the aircraft’s climb rate and the plane will adjust its angle in order to achieve your requested value.
Hope that helps
Understood, thank you.
You can also briefly de-select ALT while the AP is otherwise still engaged (for speed and heading) and manually adjust pitch angle to your desire. And then re-engage ALT.
It’s helpful that the ALT value you set previously is not lost, so you can hand fly to a new pitch at any time, while everything else stays automated.
And then when turn ALT on again it tells you what VS your new pitch is achieving.
I have to try this. Thank you
