Auto pilot on a380

Helloo everyone please when climbing and trying to increase speed with auto pilot why does the n1 go over 100% and also when on cruise when making a turn the n1 goes over 100% also trying to change from m0.84 to M0.85 the n1 goes over 100% why is this normal ?

Hey!

This is simply how the autothrottle works in Infinite Flight. I agree it does need a revamp - jumping to 0 or 100 isn’t realistic.

Depending on various factors, when an aircraft makes a turn, more power is required to maintain the set speed. This may result in going over 100% N1, which is fine in the A380 - as long as you don’t exceed 98.5% thrust (approximately 108% N1 in the A380).

But then the engine fan goes red

For the purposes of Infinite Flight, I wouldn’t worry about that. It’s basically an indicator that you’re over 100% N1 and you shouldn’t spend too long continuously at that power level.

Well sometimes while increasing speed on auto pilot let’s say trying to go from m0.83 to M0.85 the thrust goes over 100% and later comes down is this normal ?

That’s how the autothrottle works in Infinite Flight. It’s normal in Infinite Flight at the moment.

Ok thank you
I don’t experience turbulence at all why’s that lol I wish I can

This feature request would solve this issue.

By restricting N1 it would allow for more realistic power management.
