Good evening. Today I was doeing a flight across the pond and some bad things happend. Let’s start. First when I was rotating my plane swerved of the runway causing me to almost get a violation or crash. Then I engaged the auto pilot after wrestling the plane to the sky and the plane would not climb. It slowly climbed in bits. Then when I started my decent into Jacson Adlanta the llane climbed! It would not decent. I had to use trim and flaps to decend. The min I put out 5° flaps my plane went space shuttle mode. After getting some what of final I had pitch and roal issues. I struggled to go around. I weasels the plane to the ground with a thump.
My plane was a Boeing 777-200F
If I could get help on this that would be so good. 8hrs and 44mins almost ending in a crash.
This is normal because the flaps produce drag. Because of this, the aircraft can pitch up. It’s important to extend flaps one by one rather then full at once to avoid this happening.
Also, you should be rotating at about 140-50. 80 is way to slow.
That’s why you should rotate at about 150-160 knots with a full payload. As I said, extend flight spoilers to help you descend more faster.
Moral of the story: speed and weight was The issue here. Remember to go easy on the flaps as they can cause to pitch your aircraft up due to the drag they create.
Yeah, I hate when it happens. Happens to me once in the 777 during the OMDB FNF and I just couldn’t seem to decent even after decreasing speed. Then I increased my VS and extended the spoilers and it helped!
