Description
The new lighting engine has a system that auto-adjusts the brightness according to what the camera is currently pointed at. I am encountering many scenarios where, when looking out of the cockpit window the lighting is very well balanced, but when the camera is being pointed to the inner cockpit (eg. instruments) the system adjusts the lighting by raising the brightness and this results in the appearance of a strong glare. In many cases, this makes the glass cockpits of many jets very hard to see, especially the blue and magenta elements of the instruments.
This is by no means a serious flaw, but can be tweaked for the overall improvement of visibility of instruments and experience. With the new engine, it is all the more enjoyable to fly using the cockpit instruments only, and having the lighting work better would be welcome.
Example:
Note how in the wider view, the glass cockpit is visible much better before the system adjusts the brightness in the second more zoomed-in view.
