Hello,
I have just read about this news.
What do you think about it?
Final approach? Both pilots should be focusing on landing at that point, not filming fireworks.
Change that. Out rages. Fly the dam plane, not film fireworks.
That is absolutely horrible. Speechless. Both of these pilots should be fired immediately.
I also think this is really bad
As Scott Bateman wrote in his tweet this is simply not a safety first focused behaviour and the approach shouldnât have been flow in the first place in my opinion. Also thatâs not the moment to make a video (as long as the Camera is not fixed, certified and not requiring any manual inputs from any of the pilots (not in the jumpseat)).
Watch your language mate
@BosnianAviation Sorry
Co-pilot: Sir shouldnât you focus on flying the plane?
Pilot: Itâs fine weâre not that lo- FIVE HUNDRED
Pilot: âŠ
Co-pilot cough cough
Pilot: fine rain on my parade. I guess Iâll fly the plane.
Well I guess they got excited. I saw the video it was cool. Obviously they should focus on landing but they had it under control and landed the plane safely.
Well I donât know. Probably on AP anyway
Even if they are on AP both pilots focusing on fireworks i think is not good. I dont know if maybe one of them would be monitoring instruments the other one would be permitted to film anything, or not to focus on instruments. Maybe any official pilot here can help.
Definitely not. Thereâs a rule called âsterile cockpitâ which must be followed below 10000feet.
Quote from the linked article:
â In addition, during these periods of time the flight crew members should focus on their essential operational activities without being disturbed by non-flight related matters, i.e. flight crew members should avoid non-essential conversations, should not make non-safety related announcements towards the passengers, etcâ
What ever happened to Airplane Mode???
That is horrible. Honestly the pilot should be focusing on landing the plane instead of filming some fire works. I really hope they got some punishmentâŠ
Personally the ATC should have given the Pilots a hold until the fireworks had gone off as one could have been put into the firework machine thingy wrong and rocketed out towards the aircraft. Also it was a very big distraction for the pilots as well so once again IMO ATC should have given the pilots a hold to wait for the display to end and not let the pilots distracted. Below is the original video.
ATC doesnât willy nilly dash out hold patterns for no reason.
But in this situation they shouldâve because they would have known about it.
So, over 10000 is permitted?
