I wanted to make a post and see if anyone else is having similar thoughts or opinions. I am very interested in IFACT but also want to get good training and the only place to do that is in the training server.
I know it is a training server for a reason. But I also find it difficult to gain real experience when you have some pilots 100% disregard any or all commands given. Hard to do pattern work when you have multiple aircraft wanting to land on the same runway at the same time or jumping sequence.
Has there ever been any thought in maybe having “trainee atc” that allows the controller to have a little more power? Because there are definitely pilots that aren’t on that server for training, just to mess around. This is why I think we have a casual server.
Sorry if this was brought up before. Just thought I’d pop the idea out of having rules enforced slightly on the training server.
Apply for IFATC, and once you pass the written, you can join our training program. Our training team will put you at airports with professional pilots within the organization, and if there’s any interference, most of us have tools to resolve such situations.
I’m glad your interested in joining IFATC and you could also make a tracking thread and open a smaller airport like KDAL or some smaller airport and people could stop by who actually want to help you and you can train like that and you won’t have the trolls like you would at KLAX or EGLL
Continuing on what kyle has mentioned above, good way is having an ATC tracking thread, as well as controlling less populated airports for example when i was in the phase of learning before qpplying for IFATC i would always control my homeport KPDX as it has parallel runways and rarely has large traffic to or from it in IF so less likely to have trolls.
I want to join IFATC but it says i cant because my trust level is too low and i dont know how to get to level 1, help pls.
In the simplest way possible… just be active and contribute. You’ll get there in no time.
It’s easy, just keep being active around here, reading topics, liking, and helping around when you can! And you will be there in no time.
Thank you so much!
