ATC Schedule • 4-10 Mar 19

Region changes will occur around 0600Z as the previous region’s activity comes to an end.

ATC now features an airport each week! This airport will remain open throughout the entire week except for during the FNF. Each airport featured is one of 2017's busiest airports.

This week’s featured airport is:

Istanbul Ataturk International Airport [LTBA] 4-7 MARCH 2019

Istanbul Ataturk International is the main airport of Turkey and responsible for moving over 63M passengers each year, making it the 15th busiest airport in the world. Despite it’s roots going back to 80’s, LTBA is still a super airport by modern standards. However, three massive runways, a large ramp, and all of it’s gates still wasn’t enough to handle the massive demand and ever-growing number of domestic flights. This week we celebrate the transfer of flights from Istanbul Ataturk to Istanbul New Airport, a modern state-of-the-art airport situated on the Black Sea. LTBA will be the featured airport until the Friday Night Flight when LTFM takes over into the weekend!

Istanbul New Airport [LTFM] 8-10 March 2019

Istanbul New Airport features 4 massive parallel runways with a current capacity of 150M passengers, a number which equals the amount of passengers the 6 London-Area airports currently service. By 2028 the airport will feature 6 runways, 16 taxiways, and a passenger capacity upwards of 200M passengers.
