FAQ

How do I join IFATC?

Head over to our ATC Recruiting Topic, read all instructions, and submit an application to get started!

How do I get IFATC at my event?

At least one published event from the #live:events category will be featured each month on the IFATC schedule. Direct message requests are not accepted. Events chosen are based on organization, engagement, airport capacity for the event type, and creativity. For more, you can check out the IFATC Event Policy here!

What is a "check ride"?

Each IFATC member enters a check ride phase upon promotion to the ATC Specialist rank which gives access to Class Bravo airports. This phase evaluates their ability to handle complex airports, increased traffic volume, and standard Expert Server conditions. The * on the ATC Schedule denotes airports that shouldn’t be opened by newly promoted ATC Specialists.

How can I appeal my Level 2 or 3 Violation?

If reported by ATC on the Expert Server for an infraction you will be issued a Level 2 or Level 3 Violation. This may be appealed here on the Community Forum by sending a direct message to @appeals where you should provide your callsign, display name, location, details surrounding the report, and a replay file which can easily be uploaded here!
