ATC’s Operation of KATL

In our manual it states that we must use all availble runways, we don’t follow real world procedures in regards to runway configurations for landings and departures unless we are instructed to for an event, TFR, etc.

if you expect follow real world procedure during an FNF, the queues for takeoff would be way too long. During an FNF, the traffic is maybe 3 or 4 times higher then in real life. If it is possible, we try to use real world procedures, but sometimes it is just impossible.

Real KATL don’t have FNFs, once the get as busy, they will follow IF procedures :)

IFATC have a set of guidelines that they adhere to as has now been explained. I am not sure demanding operations must run a certain way is a fantastic approach to being on this forum. Thanks!
