I got a level 2 violation after I went around and asked to land on another runway. The ATC kept on telling me to contact departure, but I was trying to land, not depart. So I asked again and was reported. I was not sure if the ATC was focused or If I did something wrong. Is I did, please tell me what. And if I didn’t, how do fix this?
Hello!
The best approach to this would be to follow what is mentioned in the topic below, which tells you how to contact either a controller or the Appeals Team to resolve situations similar to yours, give feedback, and receive feedback.
Just FYI: In real life, go-around aircraft can be handed off to Departure before being transferred to Approach.
It’s not a universal practice across all airports though. To my knowledge, I only know of US airports operating this way.
While it isn’t standard procedure within IFATC, radar controllers may choose to replicate this. Not saying this is what happened in your case, so back to what Jinco said - clarify with the controllers involved and/or contact Appeals to overturn your violation ![]()
Thanks, I thought there might be a procedure that I did not know about
Hello, I got a level 3 violation in my approach to leipzig today, I accidentally contacted Munich center and quickly changed it to leipzig approach. Upon doing that I received a level 3 violation and I’m not exactly sure why. I have been on expert server for years and never received anything for a little mistake in frequency contact. What should I do?
