ATC not communicating

Hey guys I was on a flight doing standard routine departure then the tower atc frequency completely stopped talking what do you guys recommend?

Hello,

Are you able to please provide some more clarity regarding the situation? Had you been cleared for takeoff and the controller didn’t send any other message to you once you were airborne or was there no response from the controller whilst you are still on the ground?

Once you provide a little more clarity on the situation, I’m sure we’ll be able to help you out.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Well first of all it was in the training server and I was trying to request a departure to the tower air traffic controller and everyone else was trying to communicate with the controller to but he just stopped communicating and no messages came back from his side?

I also have one more question for you Declan, the departure was from LAX intl airport so as I took off I tried to check in with Oakland center so I said check in IFR which makes me say “with you at 3000 feet” by example then he started giving me vectors to descend and turn a certain heading? Am I supposed to do tune into center frequencies and say check in IFR or am I supposed to stay quiet. Keep in mind this is the training server.

For how long? I’m pretty sure you get kicked out if you don’t respond to any messages for over a minute or two. Maybe the controller ran to the restroom or was just fatigued for a moment? You’re really not giving us much information.

Why were you tuning into Oakland center as you were departing from Los Angeles? Shouldn’t you have been tuning into Los Angeles center or SoCal Departure? If neither of those frequencies were staffed I would just wait until approaching Oakland center’s airspace?

Am I not supposed to do contact centers when I am in their airspace’s tho?

Hi Ben,

That’s correct, you are required to contact and check in however KLAX is within Los Angeles Center airspace and not Oakland Center.

The map will show you the boundary of the Center’s airspace outlined in white so you can see if you are within in it and whether you need to contact or not
