ATC must do better with unprofessional pilots

If that was the case op would have likely clarified that but the op did mention this

If that user was respectful, he would have executed a go around and very likely he knew what he was doing meaning he could have still seen them on the radar as unknown even with his choppy connection and what happened was a clear violation doesn’t matter if it’s intentional or not. It’s not fair to other users and op in this case let’s be honest.

Just during yesterday’s activity, I landed at LOWW Airport, contacted ground control after leaving the runway, and requested the Pier East Gate D26 parking stand, which was approved. While taxiing towards the stand, a 787 entered my assigned stand. I’m not quite sure whether it was a pilot error or ground control confusion. I was forced to turn to Pier East Gate D24. Although it didn’t cause me any damage, I think this is worth reporting

Those saying it’s a just a game, then I think ATC should stop giving out violations and let use fly freely. We pilots can land without ATC. And it’s high time you allow pilots to report ATC and other pilots,I got level 2 violation just because my server went off. ATC should know all this of a pilot server goes offline.

rage quit hurt hurt himself by not getting the landing credit lol. So if that’s how he handles it I guess so be it lol

Hey! I just read the entire post and wanted to chip in. As an IFATC controller, things can get really overwhelming especially at the hub.

The Infinite Flight servers have gotten really buggy lately so server turn-off’s happen a lot and it’s just possible that the controller lost all.

Topics like this dont help a lot. Yes, it brings awareness from the community but LOWW was controlled by a lot of controllers yesterday so neither the controller nor the community knows.

What I would do is DM the controller and let him know about this incident.

Hope I helped

Yeah so what you gonna tell me, it’s okay to slip things away for these rookies because it’s just a game? Why would you want them in the first place think again what’s the purpose of expert server and the rules? What’s so hard to be quite intelligent and be respectful to others?

I would recommend if we want to see change, we should treat each other with respect and instead of blaming the other side, we should try to understand each other’s perspectives, that will keep the topic open and will have a better chance at making a positive difference.

If your connection was lost then you could appeal and, upon reviewing replays, your violation would’ve been removed. I’ve had the same issue before and had the violation removed.

if you don’t want any ATC then there’s always the casual server.

ATC has no way of ensuring others don’t park at spaces already requested, especially if they just request a generic “taxi to parking”.

it’d be good to be able to have a spot reserved once you’ve requested it, but would be a problem for hubs that don’t have many gates.

When I started playing IF five years ago, the standards were definitely higher. You had to be very careful on the Expert Server to avoid getting reported by ATC, moderators, or supervisors. Nowadays, in my opinion, the overall level has dropped significantly.

I’ve experienced many situations—especially on the ground—where pilots weren’t reported, even though their behavior was clearly recognized by ATC. That’s not what the Expert Server is meant for.

Any time a pilot on the Expert Server taxis through another aircraft, it should be an instant report. A simple “I’m sorry” isn’t enough in such cases. As long as I’m controlling on the Expert Server, I’ll immediately issue a report to those pilots.

I love how we have topics like this that are asking for reports but at the same time we have topics like the ones below that are asking for more leniency. TBH this tells us that we right now may be at a balance, though taxiing through another aircraft is unacceptable. Also topics about the ethics of ATC should not be made every week please.

Therefore, I think we should update a feature, that is, after the accurate parking stand is scheduled, this parking stand is in a dark state, and other pilots in this field cannot choose.

If you’re ever in a situation OP described, can’t you request a diversion? I’ve never really looked at all the communication features, so I don’t know if that’s a thing. I usually just “tough it out” till I can land.

Had a quick search to see if it’s been requested in Features already, probably nearest I could find so worth voting for it to see if could be done

Gate system improvements in multiplayer

There is a diversion option, I think it’s only available when you’re on radar frequencies (approach/centre)

As an IFATC controller there’s a really fine balance between too many reports and not enough.

The main issue is that if ATC is too strict reporting everything and everyone breaking the rules its going to be a turn off for those who might be new to the expert server and probably won’t join because of super super high and tight standards of pilots who we expect should be actually qualified irl to even be allowed on…

Then we have not reporting enough which then affects users like you who complain about atc being too soft.

But in reality of it all what we’re trying to do is have a balance in reporting and giving warnings and making sure that new grade 3 users are confident that they are allowed to make some mistakes and not get the boot for it but more experienced users like you making sure that we are giving reports where needed.
