One time I was playing ground atc at omdb.
And I noticed that the 777 was schon as a 4 engine aircraft instead of 2.
Sorry if this is a duplicate.
It’s because the 777 is a heavy.
The icons doesn’t really represent the plane, but the wake turbulence class and size of the aircraft.
The 777, A340, A380 and 747 all have that larger long haul aircraft Icon

i doubt if that is wake turbulence class… because 787-X is represented as a medium jet then. i guess it has to with wingspan of aircraft.
