I want to talk about ATC and languages, it would be a great innovation to make the language available in English and in the official language of each country.
I see that there is a topic requesting the translation of the language. But it would be interesting if you had the option of languages when buying live. Choose between the official language in aviation (English) and the language of your country of origin.
Not everyone understands every language… nor do the controllers. Choices are good but if I’m correct, there is a choice for picking your ATC language in settings. I’d like someone to confirm that though.
@Tsumia no there isn’t a choice for language.
Remember though, the language pilots use all over the world is English, so I wouldn’t really see the point of putting different languages in the game when even in real life they only use English. Just my opinion.

English is incredibly important in aviation and is compulsory in real life due to safety guidelines. I don’t see a need for a feature like this.

This is something that should be implemented on client side. I’ve had to ghost people before who didn’t understand my requests in English as it wasn’t their first language. Being a mobile sim we should be making an effort to have an easier experience, even if the language translation is just on the client side.
It makes sense to put other languages in each country and the option of English. In events with ATC online, certain pilots from Brazil or other countries are violated because they do not understand English very well, and the language of that place should be spoken as that of their country of origin. And for aircraft coming from other countries using English, that would be a great implementation.

I think that is would still be more realistic to leave the sim as English only since English is the universal language and according to ICAO regulations, all ATC and pilots must be able to speak English and French, however, all communication must be done through English as a primary communicator

There are accents in the pilot voice thing for IF. I believe I have mine set to Australian English
As much as this would be a very nice feature for inclusion and diversity, two things I support and love very much about this wonderful sim, Infinite Flight still is just that: a simulator. As such, we should try to simulate the real world as much as possible, and an all English ATC and pilot panel does just that, in my opinion.
I’ve heard Spanish ATC and pilots tend to talk to each other in their native language on frequency, but as we know this isn’t allowed under ICAO law. Still, fascinating to know it happens in real life.
Anyway, Infinite Flight should remain in English. Plain and simple. As others have stated, English is the international language of aviation, so might as well not teach others looking to go into aviation bad habits.
