I don’t understand why everytime i ask for flight following and atc gives me clearence they start giving me vectors even after they give me clearence. It’s so annoying
The most likely reason ATC, would do this is because the airspace is crowded and ATC needs you to take a different route because you might hit some one
ATC can vector you if they wish. You will eventually receive a resume own naviagation and an altitude at discretion command.
If they give you flight following you may be on the course with incoming traffic therefore you may need to change headings.
Some ATC might have departure procedures so they require you to follow them and this is how they maintain control in their airspace
Flight following means ATC will keep and I on you and out of the way of traffic when necessary. This mean you may have to accept vectors.
