Recently, I’ve been experiencing an issue in the app where ATC frequencies do not appear available to connect. Today, for example, I was repeatedly instructed to contact the Curitiba Center frequency, but it was not available for me. This has been happening fairly often, and I’m concerned about possibly receiving an unfair penalty at some point. Has this been happening to anyone else? How can it be resolved?

This has been a bug with the Center frequencies for a while now - the solution:
Make sure you have “airspaces” enabled on the map by clicking on the gear 
icon on the right hand side of the map screen. Then click within the centre airspace (marked by a solid white boundary) again and a tag should appear.
Click on that tag and there should then be an option to tune into the frequency.
