I’m optimistic about it as well. AI is a tool and it will enter ATC in the real world very soon. I have talked about this in forums and ATC get very combative over this subject but as someone who is directly involved in edge AI computing I try to explain that it isn’t to replace their job but rather give them a tool in their toolbox to make their job easier to focus on safety. For example AI can sequence departures far better than a human can and do it in seconds. Then tell ATC which aircraft to pushback and taxi first to which runways. This then automatically deconflicts departures on parallel runways because AI already had it figured out long ago. ATC then makes sure operations remain safe and there in the event of something unforseen happens.

Sorry, but this is a duplicate topic. This particular question of AI ATC has come up time and time again, especially as AI progresses. Right now, it’s highly unlikely that this will get added due to the insane resource requirements and cost of commercial AI. Even VatSim struggles with their own version.

This would be an amazing idea! Having full ATC 24/7 at every airport and airspace would be awesome! The problem with this though, is that unfortunately not everyone wants to cooperate for the best of the community and the game. There will surely be some people that wont follow instructions, and with AI controlling everything… yeah… But this is still a very good idea for single player!

For those who haven’t noticed, there’s a chance this is being tested on the ES rn!
Yea I was landing at KSFO when they were testing it! It told me to exit runway before my nose wheel touch the runway tho 
It definitely has work to be done on it, but this could be pretty awesome in the future. I believe right now it’s being tested while under human surveillance

It will make the game even more lively all around the globe. We are awaiting for something like this and for IFATC, they should have priorty to control whenever/where ever they want over ai.

It definitely add a whole new level of immersion to the sim. 
That would really be great, I hope this feature gets added.
