Alright. Just like others have mentioned, there is a way you can declare emergency fuel to ATC. What you need to if you’re in such a situation is to open the ATC menu on the bottom left and look for “Emergency Request”. Select that and you will able to declare your emergency to the ATC and they will act accordingly to bring you back safely onto the ground as quick as you can. It’s unfortunate that you ran out of fuel but at least you know what to do next time :)

Alright.

But guys: I not trolling. If I go from LEMD to EIWD, i don’t use full tanks of fuel option, do you? at normal weight is enough.

When i contact Approach, I had 0:40 min flight time, if I could have flown directly to Bublin, But I was taken to rnwy28 via a turn, and if the first x goes wrong, little fuel left for the second time. After de go-around 10min left…

Ah there’s your problem! You need to have a flight time of more than 1 hour to have the emergency request option. Since your flight time was only 40 mins, you did not have the option.

I don t get it yet. I left LEMD and flight to EIWD. 2:10 flight. (total)

So, im running out of fuel, but… im at 40min from EIWD, i cant make contact earlier?

It depends, how long you were flying. It’s possible that during the flight (so after 40min) that you saw that you had low fuel. Eventhough this happen, you won’t get an emergency button, cause you are still underneath the 1hour.

For example, I do a flight from Amsterdam (EHAM) to New York Newark (KERW)… That will probably take 6 to 7 hours (depends on wind etc). While flying to New York Newark near Ice land (BIFK) (let say from Amsterdam to Ice land is 50min flying) I see that I have low fuel. This means that I have to do an emergency landing at BIFK. But the emergency button wont appear, since I haven’t fly for more than 1 hour yet.

So wait, you were already flying for 1 hour and 30min?

yeas, thats correct.

If you’re running out of fuel and too far away from your destination, you won’t be able to contact ATC so the best solution would be to divert.

On saterday 12 okt, i did a flight from LEMD to EIWD (both ATC)

I flew B744, fuel between light and normal (flight time 2:10) i took for 2:30 on fuel.

So, im almost at EIWD so i wait to connect Approach (at 40NM??). I see quick that i have 40min left on fuel. But … the controller ask to make a turn right. Follow the traffic on downwind, then i lost contact with Approach and Tower so i needed a go-around with 4% fuel left… and thats not enough.

And thats why i’ll ask here: “Is there a emergency request fuel option”

I’m confused now: when i approach any airport with ATC and im running out of fuel… (40-10min flight time left) there no option for a quick landing? because im not in the 1 hour time gap?

Ok let me get something clear. Were you 40 minutes out of EIDW or were you in a holding pattern at EIDW for 40 mins? By losing contact, did you mean you disconnected and was tuned out of the frequency?

No, i was at 40NM from EIWD, but there was no Emergency Request Fuel option.

If EIWD had no ATC, I had landed safely on rnwy 28

Are you sure you had a look at the ATC menu properly? If you had 10 mins of fuel left, the emergency request option should have popped up.

the controller EIWD put me into Holding pattern for rnwy28. And on that moment I needed that emergency request fuel option!

By losing contact: i mean, im waiting for the call: contact Tower on freq. or … and then i did that and i was too late, and missed the runway and I had to go again. (go-around) 4% fuel and 10min flight time.

Could you share the replay of your flight using this link?

Thanks in advance.

i get that. But this is different. I was putting in holding pattern before landing rnwy 28 at EIWD (Dublin full ATC active) But i was running out of fuel, so i needed that Emergency button, to land first! i was number 8! and the pattern was about 25min… so…

ill try that.
