Asiana Airlines A350-900 San Francisco to Seoul

South Korea’s other national airline, Asiana Airlines, was the country’s first alternative to then then-troubled Korean Air, and rapidly expanded across the Pacific and westward to Europe in the 1990s and 2000s. The United States, in particular, has been a key market for the airline, which serves Honolulu, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, and Seattle. Unfortunately, this 5-star airline’s days are numbered, as the merger with its old rival, Korean Air, has been approved, and OZ will be integrated with KE in the next few years. Thus, flying Asiana is rapidly becoming an “enjoy it while you can” experience, one that we’re taking advantage of today.

Wow this was awesome…sweet pictures and great topic! As someone who has flown on a midnight flight to Seoul from SFO, I’d say this really captures that midnight to pre-dawn timing of the flight.

Fun fact, the inbound flight from Seoul arrives in the afternoon at SF. There’s so much time between the inbound and return flight, that the plane has to be parked at the stands outside of Terminal G, which is right next to the highway!

I see an Asiana A350 (usually next to an ANA 777) for this flight everyday on my way home from work!
