Are clouds, graphics and realistic water coming to infinite flight?

hey all, so lately ive been playing infinite flight, but i noticed that the simulator is missing clouds, the only ones available are 2d, also the graphics and shadows feel unrealistic, the simulator feels too bright, also the water isnt reflecting at all, so i think that these new things will change the simulator to feel a whole lot realistic. So, are these things coming to infinite flight? because it seems that development is only going to new aircraft and features

Years has passed and that question always surface…
I do not know the answer, but check the development timeline from the page.

Apart from the development timeline, you can also read about Project Metal - the project of changing the rendering code to work with a different graphics API, which will open up the possibility to add better lighting, better clouds and overall drastically improve the graphic experience of IF. Bear in mind, though, that this is a huge undertaking, and it may take some more time before it’s perfected and before you see a huge difference in the app itself.

The progress of Project Metal is the reason why we’re able to have more detailed aircraft, cirrus clouds, 3D airports and taxiway & approach lighting.

4 years towards 5… I think they must have something ready, at least showing the performance

If it comes, we may have to wait a good time until it. But it will last our waiting efforts 😉

I wish sometime soon

Hello alex, thanks for the response

I read the project metal article, it seems to be a process before the devs start work on the clouds and other things, but still there is a lot of things that exist in desktop sims that isnt there in infinite flight simulator.

I know this is a mobile simulator but could there ever be an addition of city lights, realistic water, and (devices will explode but) 3d cities? or is clouds and graphics the only things in work?

sorry if im missing something, im not that active here

You already said it, this is a mobile sim.
Don’t wait something like MFS or XPlane in a phone because your cellphone doesn’t have a dedicated GPU.

Which cellphone doesn’t have a dedicated gpu?

One thing is integrated GPU, which is by far the last thing you want for a pc if you want to play games.
Cellphones have integrated GPU, a dedicated GPU is a entirely different hardware unit from the CPU.
And of course due the limitations on the space gived to put all the nano hardware, a GPU requires a considerable amount of power and cooling system since those boards can get very and very hot.

Of course, the GPU is separate, the limitation being that resources are shared with (drained from) the CPU. But it will be exciting to see how the new graphics optimizations bring out new visual features from the cellphone’s available GPU.

We shall see by the end of the year. In good hopes I can’t wait to see it come true

Knowing IF and Metal, I’m sure it’ll be very, very optimized. Cam said on the discord server is that the goal is to match the new graphics engine performance to current IF. But it could even be better. We’ll wait and see.

I think we need to trust the staffs of the games we like, and of course this will happen

If you want to know when will takes to update:

1.Comming soon
2.When it ready

It would be elite, especially IMC The game lacks difficult atmospheres and harsh weather conditions. We want to experience the severe crosswinds when landing, dust in the air, and an atmosphere that prevents vision for some of the challenge.

It might be released this year or early next year

Where did you saw it ?

Considering they have been working on it for 4 years now they should be done by this December this year or February next year

Its important to remember too that the Project Metal is an ongoing project, isn’t something with an end, so as long as they develop it they will be implementing the progress into the app.
Hope to see these progress soon!
