Hi so I was landing at Helsinki international airport and I contact approach. He tells me to hold position at a specific waypoint and desend to 9000 ft. I do so and then I request for more vectors he he tells me to turn to heading 200 and leaves me like that. I start leaving my requested runway so I request again.no answer then I ask again cause I get confused and he tells me to stop sending duplicate messages I stop and then I get increasingly worried and I ask him again what to do and then he reports me đ in the expert server
Sometimes Approach gets very busy. You have to be very patient. In situations like these, I just send a check in after a while of me flying away from the airport. Talk with the ATC controller in IFC, and see what they have to say.
The IFATC are very well trained and on expert server, you should just do what they tell you to do because you might not see what they are trying to do but they do have a plan.
I believe @Raidon23 was your controller. Could you confirm that? Heâll be the person you should sort this out with :)
You were spamming my freq with 5 requests when I told you to avoid sending duplicate messages.
Yes he was my controller
I got confused
The approach knows that you are being vectored, you donât have to send messages, just wait for vectors of the approach.
Then itâs not worth trying to accuse him of forgetting about you. I can say that all approach controllers usually have a plan going into this and are just trying to get you to your destination efficiencly.
I got closer to the other runway so I was confused if u were guiding me to the other runway
After we get reported do we get banned or something
You will be back in 7 days you wonât be able to fly in expert for 7 day
To add to @Babacar, you will be demoted to grade 2 for 7 days so you may only fly on the training or casual server for that time.
Approach is the hardest frequency⌠And yes they forget about you, not everyone is perfect. Imagine vectoring 100 planes in a pattern⌠Asking for vectors is just gonna make the frequency busier, when ATC has cleared you for vectors there is no point asking again. Just be patient or fly into a different airport. (IFATC is great!)
Happy Flying

Take up your report with the controller, they do it for a reason⌠and yours was duplicate messages on an already busy frequency.

This happened to me at KSAN one time. I ended up in Arizona because ATC forgot about me lol
@bcc.123. MaxSez: Read the previous comment on Ghost Responses by the undersigned. This Bad Peanut is yours.

What I do is a little Callsign âwith youâ if I think I am forgotten about.
I doubt this happens extremely often. Being an expert server controller myself, I know how things are run and know that it is extremely rare that you are forgotten about.
They are. Trust me. It takes most people weeks, if not, months to become IFATC and we have to go through multiple tests and evaluations aswell.
I remember seeing that it took 7 1/2 months for someone to finish training.
