Approach frequencies do not show up correctly on center

Description

Approach frequency range is smaller than departure frequency.

Frequency I was on: New York Center
Frequency I was sending to: New York Approach / New York Departure

Description

Center frequency cannot hand over to approach frequency.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open approach.
  2. Open center. (From the same air field)
  3. Plane tune into center, “Contact other frequency”, no approach frequency shows up even though they are within 30nm FL100.

Correction, it seems that the center frequency sometimes just can’t send to approach frequencies. (Had this twice in the last 2 days, had to reopen on normal version).

How did you measure the range? Because not all frequencies have circular range, you should check airport charts to find this out. In case of New York, I assume you mean New York JFK, the airport has more than one approach frequency. Unless it has controllers in all frequencies you won’t get the max approach range.

Well at the moment, you completely can’t ask someone to contact approach from center :sweat_smile:.
