Full disclosure I didn’t check to see if this was discussed previously but: My app keeps freezing periodically during my flights. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling but that didn’t seem to solve the problem. I’m using iPad Air 2.
Have you tried turning down graphics settings?
To avoid freezing I suggest…
•Turning off airplane names, dots, and airport names
•Reducing Graphics Settings
•Turning down display brightness
Let me know if this helps,
It does happen to all of us. I recommend reducing your graphics settings and maybe hiding your minimap, they should help.
Someone has had problems on the same device
Check your WiFi router, if that’s the case, try resetting it. Or try the other suggestions in topic above said.
Restart your device, if that doesn’t work, lower the graphics settings, turn on low power mode and keep the view in scenic during cruise
Reinstalling had worked for me originally, but the problem came back a few weeks ago. I managed to reduce the scale of the lag by doing the following:
- Restart your ipad before doing a flight to clear up as much ram as possible
- Keep NO background apps open during your flight
- Keep the brightness low
Have you tried to turn down graphic settings or restarting your device?
About to try that soon
It happens to all of us, just restart your device before your flight, and if doing a LH or ULH, turn your graphics and brightness down.
I have the same problem. So you all recommend to turn the settings down (especially when doing long hauls) and then turn them on again when you are close to approach?
Keep your device cool. Try removing a case from the tablet. The A8X will get hot and throttle after 10-20 minutes. This could severly affect performance
I use a free app from iTunes app store called memory and disc scanner. I clean up ram about once an hour during flights, runs quick and has solved any freezing or terrain roblens. (using iphone7 w/2g ram)
