Apple iPod??? Do you not mean an iPad?

You’re on a really old OS version - can you update it at all?

Yeah that’s the last iOS version available

Are you actually using an iPod or you meant iPad? Cause I’ve not seen any iPods in my life since 2015.

Ok - that tells me you likely have the iPod 7th generation, which only has 2GB of RAM - this is below Infinite Flight’s minimum recommended amount - which is likely why Infinite Flight is crashing just from interacting with the menus (this could also be additionally hampered if your device storage is nearing full).

I realise that this isn’t the solution you were hoping for, but the best option is that I would advise you to look into acquiring a more capable device if you’d like to keep playing. The simulator has evolved to the point that 2GB of RAM is not enough to keep the game running properly.

The bare minimum these days is 6 to 8 GB of ram. How much GB does IF actually use to run?

Incorrect, Infinite Flight recommends a minimum of 3-4GB of RAM. Naturally if you have more than that, you’ll likely have a smoother experience.

Absolutely. I am currently flying to LFTM with that device.. I hope it doesn’t crash on approach ^^

Well I don’t think that menu button requires 2GB of work.. that’s why I’m wondering if I’m the only one to experience this issue or if its a general glitch for some users..

Don’t worry. I well know about technology.. I know my device is becoming too old for IF.. but the updates are still available.. I still can fly so I’m pushing the device to the end of its capability with IF..

Only consequence of the problem I’m facing, I’m flying anonymously.

I don’t really know.. but less than 2GB actually on my end..

Most devices these days have 6 to 12 GB of ram, that’s bare minimum in today’s standards. My IPhone 15 has 6 GB and IF runs very smooth even with all settings set to high.

yeah it doesn’t mean IF have to use the full RAM.. I believe it’s between 1 or 2 GB actually. I have minimums quality settings

Here’s what I pulled from the App Store.

(I’m quite surprised that the iPod Touch is in this… I thought Apple stop support for it)

More RAM will be needed when there’s more to render, like the airport and the aircraft around you.

Apple’s memory management isn’t the best, in terms of warning to prevent running out of RAM.
That’s why “Running out or RAM” issues on devices with less RAM often happen on final approach.

And my app crashed during initial descent to LTFM :grimacing:
I could install IF on my iPhone 12 and go back online again ? (I was told to descent to 10’000ft but imma check in again)
