I do not know what the problem is but I am convinced my iPad cannot run IF. It constantly lags and crashes on final and I wont be grade 3 soon because I cant get landings in. I cleared Scenery Cache multiple times, deleted all replays, restarted my iPad, and nothing works.I refuse to fly because I have wasted about 12+ hours within the last few days just for the app to crash on final every time. I think I shall go back to X-Plane 11 until this is fixed.
What device are you currently using for flying and what might your graphical settings be set to?
I use newest apple iPad, all the settings for graphics I never changed since I got IF
Well, there are a lot of newest apple iPads being either the iPad Air, Pro, or Mini.
Also, I’m not sure what graphics the default app will give you, You can find those by going to the in-game settings and going to “Graphics.”
I can check the graphics, but I don’t remember which model iPad I have, bought it about a year ago. I prefer Samsung but parents keep getting me apple so I can’t remember what model I have.
If your graphics are on high then I would recommend turning them lower during cruise. If it doesn’t solve the problem it at least saves some battery.
you can check which one you have by going to your ipad settings > general > about > model name
Having the same issue on my iPad 8th generation… App crashes are becoming extremely frustrating… you shouldn’t have to lower your graphics on one of the newest iPads at all. Sounds rather like an app issue.
I think it may be an app issue, but at the same time the thing doesn’t have much storage at all, I have only 2-4 games on it and it is almost out of storage.
Have you deleted cache and data (or just uninstall and reinstall)?
How’s your memory on your device?
I have just experienced the same. I was flying from LFPG to OTHH and the app crashed seconds before landing (It would be a bad landing or maybe a go-around because the aircraft wasn’t aligned with that specific runway at OTHH despite APPR being LOC GS in green, but that’s another issue). To give you some detail, I play the game on iPhone 7 but it runs very smoothly with zero lags or fps drops and with all graphics settings adjusted to high. I always delete my replays, clear cache, restart the device and make sure there is some space in the storage. Furthermore, to avoid terrain being loaded, I mostly turn the camera away from scenery too. Previously, the game also crashed while I was in line for takeoff at EGLL. Takeoffs and landings are the parts where we have the most fun. This issue is quite frustrating and needs immediate fixing.
This happened to me recently. Device was an iPad 8th gen. Seconds before touchdown just a complete crash of the app. Starting then I lowered resolution graphics to medium and the rest stayed high. I clear my scenery cache then restart my iPad before every flight. This seems to work for me, the reason I have to do this though remains annoying.
Happened to me recently on my iPhone 13 on final, with lots of storage remaining, cache cleared, and device was restarted. It’s not an Apple or Samsung issue I tell you that much…
I can try reinstalling
I got decent memory on it, my storage is 20 gb of 32 gb which I guess shouldn’t be a problem
Yup thats why it is having trouble after about 3-4 long hauls or 5-8 sort-mediam haul flights you have to clear the storages from the app settings. Itbis better to do that rather then uninstall and reinstall. It they both do the exact same but clearing the storage through the app settings is much quicker.
Sadly this is an app issue looks like. Nothing will solve it for good until something it’s fixed in the Internal code of the game. The suggestions made by our fellow community members are only a temporary fix…. and sometimes not even temporary. There’s nothing we can do I’m afraid.
Probably gonna start playing on my Tab S7 in the mean time while this gets fixed on the iOS version of the game.
