I actually had this issue too a while back with one of the earlier builds on the beta. I was in the PA-28, but it stopped after a bit so I thought I was the one at fault :joy: Glad to see that it wasn’t just me!

I put the beta on my iPhone 12 and tried a FPL in Cessna 172. Had the same issue. Crazy trashing for most legs. The AP algorithm needs some tuning.

My first two pics above were for flights in Piper and XCub. Here is a pic of the iPhone flight in a 172.

I’ve also tried C208 and TBM, but they don’t exhibit the thrashing.

I’ve tried to get this to happen, but I have not been able to so far.

Are you flying using LNAV or HDG?
Is altitude set using ALT, or did you set VS to 0?

Are you flying an a XCub, 172, or Piper?

I depart, set PWR = 93%, AP on, LNAV on, VS = 500, and ALT = 6000 for flights in first post or 10000 for above flight. SPD and HDG are off. VS flips to 0 automatically once ALT is reached. Thrashing begins usually at first turn before ALT is reached. It continues for most of remaining turns. Sometimes it gets lucky and captures the path on a leg but will lose it on subsequent leg.

The inability to capture is due to it making too sharp of turns left or right toward the path so when it crosses over the path it is at an angle of 50 degrees to it. Then it turns back the other way 50 degrees off the other side. It is turning a full 100 degrees from all the way left to all the way right or vice versa.

I’ll try on a brand new iPad. Could be the devices I’m using are inadequate. Old iPad and new cheap Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+.

Are you on the dev team?

Here are FPL and actual path for the new iPad flight.

Thank you very much for your replies.

I am not on the dev team. I’m on the alpha testing team and I’m trying to find a consistent way to recreate the issue.

I’ve been testing on the PA28 but I’ll try with the info you gave me.
